I started playing sax at around age 10. Later down the road, my musical interests expanded and I dedicated a lot of time to learning bass and 6 string guitar as well as drums and percussion. The older I got, the more serious about music I became and took the initiative to do things like write drum cadences, learn theory, commit to formal study and audit college guitar classes.

I grew up in the middle of nowhere, so I didn't always have people to have jam sessions with. My solution for this dilemma was saving up and investing in an analogue 4-track tape recorder. At that point I was capable of recording my own original ideas independently.

In '95 I started going to warehouse parties and renegades in New Orleans where I was exposed to underground electronic dance music. It was around that time I decided to steer my musical endeavors in a new direction. Mixing records was the best way I could think of to become more familiar with the music being produced and the technology being used to produce it with.

When I started getting serious about mixing music, PC's didn't have quite the capability they now do, so most of what was being released at the time was produced using hardware (synths, drum machines, samplers, etc.). Digital production, VST and soft synth technology were emerging and unfamiliar medium that I perceived as having limitless capabilities. Coming to this conclusion gave me the incentive to learn as much about computers as I could. I believe the more knowledgeable an artist is with the tools and medium being used, the easier it is to express ideas in a more specific and precise manner.

The DJ sets I play are usually varying styles of break-beat, UK garage, speed garage and dub-step.
