January Profile - SnoWhite
January Profile: SnoWhite

How did you get started?
My first memory of being introduced to EDM was inspired by my big brothers (Ron-E & D-Jabe) in 1993. I always went to see them DJ and then I finally decided to pass on the family tradition. After that, my life changed. I got my first set of Technics 1200s when I was 17. I then joined a crew named Another Level and started playing at places like Sandbar, Homebar, and Zero-39. A couple years passed and I was discovered by Epik-Entertainment. This landed me many of my most successful gigs. It's 2004 and I am just now touching on the production side of the industry.

What kind of music can we expect to hear from you?
You can hear me play EDM ranging from European & German trance, to funky banging house with a touch of breaks.

How do you think trance music fares in Dallas?
Trance has its moments in Dallas. There was a time when trance was loved by many people. There was a long period of time when trance wasn't the "cool" thing to do. I think over the past year, trance has been coming up in Dallas and has been more respected by the massives. Trance is definitely making a come back in Dallas! January Profile - SnoWhite

What CDs do you recommend people check out for someone who wants to buy a trance CD but doesn't know what to get?
The top trance CDs I recommend to anyone would be Ron-E "Intensity Rising", any CD by D-Jabe, Vicious Vic "World of Trance", Eddie Halliwell "Fire It Up"

Do you ever feel that you get preferential treatment as a DJ because you're female?
I don't think I'll ever hear the end of "She's good for a girl."

Who/what inspires you musically and why?
People dancing to music and reacting to the DJ.

Do you listen to any non electronic dance music? If so, what do you listen to?
Yes. Everything ranging from hip hop to pop. Groups like Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Living Legends, Sublime, Incubus, NIN and No Doubt.
